N.C. Ferry Ride
We heard that North Carolina has the second most extensive Ferry system in the U.S. (after Washington). One of the ferries runs about 40 miles from Greenville. This weekend provided a great day for a boat ride.

Daytrip to Rocky Mount, NC
First was lunch at an old downtown diner popular with the locals.

Below are Candy and David waiting in the 90-degree heat for the south-bound Amtrak train. The train was 30 minutes behind schedule which they told us was much better than the usual 2-hour delay.
